In general, laminated glass is safety glass due to its polymer interlayer which holds the broken glass pieces not falling apart, and laminated glass has different lamination combinations: either both side glass panes are annealed/floating or both side panes are toughened, or one side pane is annealed and another side pane is toughened. The above picture shows a 21.5mm thick clear toughened SGP laminated glass after hit by a hammer. This sort of fence or balustrade using SGP laminated glass is good for public areas such as railway stations, swimming pools, even the glass is broken, the balustrade still integrated as a whole piece, minimizing the risk for the people around it.
