According to NZS 4223.1, the glass size/thickness, dimensions of rebates and grooves, front and back clearance, edge clearance and edge cover are all related to glazing requirements in NZS 4223 and NZS 4667. For instance, your front putty width shall be not less than 10mm for panels up to 1 square meter, and not less than 12mm for panels between 1 and 2 square meters.
For a 3mm thickness glass, if you use putty to repair your damaged window, the minimum rebate requirement is 9mm, and your edge cover must be around 6mm. and your edge clearance must be around 3mm. For a 4mm thickness glass, if you use putty to repair your damaged window, the minimum rebate requirement is 8mm, and your edge cover must be around 6mm. and your edge clearance your edge clearance must be around 2mm.
